Whether your foodie trend of choice comes topped with sprinkles or served with a straw, you’ll have your fix this week with the opening of two new shops in Beverly Hills and West Hollywood.
Proving that the Los Angeles cupcake craze is still alive and kicking, Georgetown Cupcakes, from the D.C.-based sisters Katherine Kallinis Berman and Sophie Kallinis LaMontagne (photo above), will be opening on Robertson Blvd. in Beverly Hills this coming Saturday at Noon. For those who prefer to avoid a mid-afternoon sugar-rush, celebrity nutritionist and author of the best-selling Beauty Detox Solution, Kimberly Snyder, open the doors Wednesday to Glow Smoothie Shop on Melrose in West Hollywood.
143 South Robertson Blvd. Beverly Hills
As stars of the TLC hit series “DC Cupcakes” and best-selling authors of The Cupcake Diaries, the “cupcake sisters” are a powerful force in the world of sweets.
Their West Coast locale will be carrying a rotating selection of eighteen varieties each day including flavors like lavender Earl gray, lemon blossom, carrot, and honey banana. If you miss out on receiving a free cupcake on opening day (November 17), you can still indulge in seasonal creations like caramel apple, gingerbread, and chocolate eggnog at your leisure this November/December.
