The Agency is pleased to announce the launch of The Agency Commercial, a dedicated, full-service commercial real estate division specializing in investment sales of all traditional asset classes, including office, retail, industrial, multi-family and hospitality. Frank Buckley, a 20-plus year veteran in the commercial space, has joined The Agency team to serve as the division’s Managing Director.

“The Agency Commercial expands upon our mission of providing our clients with the most comprehensive portfolio of luxury real estate services,” said Mauricio Umansky, CEO and co-founder of The Agency. “Many of the high-net worth clients we represent on the residential side are also very much engaged and interested in acquiring or selling commercial property. The Agency is excellently positioned to offer our clients many hidden opportunities before they’re revealed to the market, much like ‘pockets’ listings in residential real estate.”

“I’ve known Frank for more than 25 years,” shares The Agency’s President and co-founder, Billy Rose, “and he’s an all-star in the commercial arena, with experience in all facets of the business. Frank is smart, respected and well-liked, and we are proud and honored to have him as a part of The Agency and to deepen our presence and relationships in the commercial space. We know that many of the innovative practices we are employing in the residential arena will translate well to the commercial world, and we believe that we can help redefine that practice as well.  Frank has demonstrated, through his own investments, that he has a deep understanding of the market and is keenly adept at re-positioning assets for a profit.”

As a partner at Apollo Realty Advisors, L.P. (a leading private equity firm which has invested over $13 Billion in more than 570 transactions worldwide), Buckley  was responsible for business development, acquisitions, and negotiating JV equity partnerships, and, as co-founder and Managing Partner of Urban Development Partners (a Los Angeles based real estate investment firm), he has been acquiring and re-positioning distressed bank and government owned properties through the most recent down cycle.

His formative career was in the capacity of Managing Director at Ramsey-Shilling Commercial Real Estate Services, where he represented top-tier landlords, buyers, developers and tenants. Notable transactions include the $50 million sale/leaseback of the Capitol Records building, the build-to-suit for Nickelodeon’s 73,000 square foot Animation Headquarters in Burbank, the sale of the Omni Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and the exclusive leasing assignment for the Bristol Group’s Los Angeles Center Studios, an approximately 450,000 square foot independent sound stage facility on some 20 acres.

“I’m thrilled to be a part of The Agency team, and tasked with establishing The Agency Commercial as a dominant player in the commercial sector,” said Buckley. “The line between the commercial and residential sector continues to blur, and the fact that we are operating from a luxury residential platform, with strategic celebrity and high-net worth client relationships, both foreign and domestic, makes us a uniquely positioned commercial specialist.”

A graduate of UCLA, Buckley is a member of the Urban Land Institute, and has had many civic affiliations that include Mayor Richard Riordan’s Hollywood Economic Alliance,  Councilwoman Jackie Goldberg’s Hollywood Community Advisory Council (HCAC), and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
