The Agency is pleased to announce our new Chief Operating Officer and Managing Partner of The Development Group, Jason Glasgow, who brings nearly two decades of experience in leadership, strategy, development and asset management to the team. He joins The Agency from a subsidiary of Westbrook Partners, a top ten global real estate private equity firm, where he was responsible for its residential development platform in the Western United States. At The Agency, Jason will work in collaboration with the founders and managing partners to further expand the organization’s offerings and capabilities on both a local and global scale.
“The Agency’s rise in the industry was a natural evolution to answer demand in the luxury marketplace for superior service and a more effective way of doing business,” Jason said. “I plan on leveraging my experience to explore the next evolutionary step with the team that has revolutionized the real estate industry since its inception.”
As COO, Jason will work with Co-founders Mauricio Umansky and Billy Rose and the executive staff to implement a series of exceptional standards and best practices to broaden The Agency’s services, while maintaining its industry-disrupting culture of collaboration and innovation. These systems will act as the operational compass as The Agency continues its expansion.
“The Agency made it our mission from the start to advance and improve the practice of real estate for our clients,” Billy said. “We devised a new way of doing business that has resonated throughout the industry. With Jason’s extensive background in real estate, development and private equity, he will play a vital role as we continue to plot the course for our growth as a company.”
Jason will also serve as Managing Partner of The Development Group, working alongside the team that has been responsible for more than $800 million in prime property and development deals since its inception. Jason will help define the next level of standards and explore new ways to improve and professionalize the high-end development process.
“Working with developers, investors and consumers, we have identified major inefficiencies in the luxury development business. We have spent a lot of energy and thought figuring out how to solve them,” said Mike Leipart, Managing Partner of The Development Group. “With Jason on board, our team is uniquely positioned to make lasting changes to how projects are conceptualized, developed, marketed and sold.”
At Westbrook, Jason and his team drove the approval and development of more than 1,000 homes over a six-year period, ranging from luxury mid-rise condominiums to semi-custom single family homes. Earlier in his career, Jason served as the Managing Principal at Landcap Partners, a Goldman Sachs/Northstar distressed-asset platform, responsible for investing more than $300 million of equity in development assets across the West. He also ran the Los Angeles office of O’Donnell/Atkins, which at the time was the most prolific development brokerage on the West Coast, leading a team involved in more than $1.2 billion in development transactions over five years.
Formerly a boat operator for the US Navy, Jason earned his degree in International Relations from San Francisco State University, and his MBA in Real Estate Finance from the University of California. He is a member of the Residential Neighborhood Development Council for the Urban Land Institute.
