L.A. creative buffs unite: this October, the MAK Architecture Tour will be showcasing nine of the city’s most architecturally significant private residences, all designed by disciples of Frank Lloyd Wright, Richard Neutra, and R.M. Schindler.

The self-guided tour will take approximately four hours and includes stops in Silver Lake, Echo Park, and Mount Washington. Highlights include the Jules Salkin House in Echo Park, which made headlines as a “long-lost John Lautner house” when it came on the market two years ago, the Birtcher-Share House in Mount Washington, and the R.M. Schindler-designed Oliver House in Silver Lake.

Meant to highlight important lineages of modern architecture in L.A., the tour will emphasize the various influences that made the city’s pre- and post-war architectural scene so groundbreaking. Proceeds will benefit the MAK Center’s work and stewardship of Schindler’s architecture. Tickets $90 for general admission and $75 for Friends of the MAK Center. Sunday, October 2. Visit their website to purchase tickets and for more information.
