While it was a career in International television development at Sony Pictures that brought Seattle-native Hana Cha to Los Angeles, her fateful encounter with an established real estate developer, as well as a lifelong passion for architecture and design, led to her successful transition from the TV industry to real estate.
Hana has quickly established herself as one of the region’s most accomplished sales executives, overseeing more than $500+ Million in new development deals. Hana has earned the respect of developers with her extensive knowledge in residential development, including project underwriting, presale strategies, condominium project documents, Fannie/Freddie project phasing and approvals, unconventional financing strategies, and marketing and sales operations.
Hana has been with The Agency since the inception of the Company in August 2011. As one of the earliest members to join the firm, her involvement in the new development business has been a crucial role in the evolution of the Company’s New Development Group. As Managing Director of Urban New Development, Ms. Cha is responsible for creating and managing new business development with residential developer clients, while overseeing the Group’s pre-development advisory team and current operating sales teams.
Hana’s initial involvement was with The Agency’s first new developer client, AEG, and in her role managing the Marketing & Sales operations of The Ritz-Carlton Residences at L.A. LIVE, she created and implemented strategic international sales programs while advising as liaison to developer on all marketing platforms of the for-sale inventory. Taking-on the project over with only 12 deals in the pipeline, Hana generated leads, managed the sales and marketing operation, and oversaw the sale of over 200 transactions during the 30-month absorption period, totaling over $375MM in sales revenue.
Prior to joining The Agency, Ms. Cha was involved in three of the largest new development projects in the mid-Wilshire neighborhood during the recession. With the successful sellout of The Mercury, a condo-conversion project acquired by real estate conglomerate, Kennedy Wilson, Hana advised on marketing and sales programs to developers Big Rock Partners for their condo-conversion, The Summit, and Starwood’s residential subsidiary, ST Residential on Corus Bank’s Solair.
Hana Cha holds a B.A. in communications and journalism from the University of Washington.
