New San Francisco Ferry Terminal Underway Will Bring Commuter Service to Residents of Yerba Buena Island

by | Oct 8, 2019

Construction is now underway on the new ferry terminal at Treasure Island, which is set to provide residents of neighboring Yerba Buena Island with commuter service to and from Downtown San Francisco. The San Francisco Chronicle recently reported “the ferry is a critical element of the transportation plan the city and county officials are continuously refining.” The new terminal adds to the appeal of Yerba Buena Island, the new San Francisco residential community located on a naturally formed island in the heart of the Bay.

“The start of the ferry terminal marks a major milestone in the story of Yerba Buena Island,” explains Andy Ardila, Managing Director of The Agency Development Group, which represents marketing and sales of the residential offering. “Residents have the unique opportunity to live within San Francisco, surrounded by miles of trails, parks and sandy beach. Yerba Buena Island combines the energy of the city and the natural beauty of the Bay Area—and ferry service to and from Downtown only adds to the community’s incredible quality of life.”

Located within minutes of the Financial District, Yerba Buena Island will feature 266 luxury residences, including condominiums, flats, townhomes and estate homesites designed to blend with the unique topography of the island. Ranging from studios to expansive five-bedroom homes, the residences will be LEED-certified or GreenPoint Rated and situated to maximize 360° views of San Francisco and the Bay Area.

The Yerba Buena Island community features 72 acres of parks, five miles of hiking and biking trails and a calm, sandy beach for kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding. Private residential amenities include The Island Club, a three-story community gathering place by Aidlin Darling Design. The approximately 14,000-square-foot club will feature an outdoor pool, fitness and yoga studios, massage rooms, indoor and outdoor lounges and viewing terraces. Yerba Buena Island also offers a fully integrated, holistic wellness offering that activates both the island’s natural surroundings and the private amenities. Yerba Buena Island Developer Wilson Meany and partner Stockbridge Capital Group are members of the Treasure Island Community Development team, which has invested tens of millions of dollars to fund the terminal, set to open in 2021. “Ferry service strengthens San Franciscans’ connection to the water,” explains Chris Meany, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Wilson Meany. “This connection is an integral part of everyday life at Yerba Buena Island.
