The 2017 Genesis Open may have been delayed by L.A.'s rather rainy winter, but the weather didn't stand in the way of a terrific ending to the tournament. The world's best golfers competed at the Riviera Country Club, with only one taking home the trophy.

The play came to a close on Sunday, February 19, when The Agency hosted the VIP lounge, The Backlot, where guests mingled and enjoyed views of the 18th hole. Guests toasted with signature Bloody Marys, nibbled on brunch bites, danced to the house DJ and enjoyed the chic setting created by Calamigos Ranch.

The Agency's CEO Mauricio Umansky also competed alongside Ernie Els in the Pro-Am tournament this past Wednesday. The final round closed with Dustin Johnson ultimately capturing the trophy,

For the third year in a row, The Agency was proud to be the exclusive sponsor of the VIP Lounge at The LA Art Show, which took place between January 10 and 14 at The Los Angeles Convention Center. One of the country’s most celebrated annual art events, the show, now in its 22nd year, kicked off with a star-studded premiere party hosted by Emma Roberts to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Drawing inspiration from our favorite living rooms, The Agency’s Partner and Founding Member, Paul Lester, teamed up with Meridith Baer Home to present an elegant and eclectic hangout for this year’s VIP Lounge that also served as an exhibition space in its own right. Candy Cane Lane

A neighborhood tradition for more than 60 years, Candy Cane Lane sees some eight square blocks in Woodland Hills transformed into a Christmas wonderland with lights and decorations that would put Clark Griswold’s over-the-top Christmas Vacation light display to shame. The lights are located at the intersection of Lubao and Oxnard Streets and last through the end of the year.

On May 19, 1962, in front of a crowd of 15,000 guests at Madison Square Garden, Marilyn Monroe slipped off her ermine fur coat and performed what might be the sultriest rendition of the “Happy Birthday” song the world had ever seen. On the receiving end of the ditty was none other than President John F. Kennedy, who was celebrating his 45th birthday.

It’s hard to say what wowed the crowd more that night—Monroe’s provocative performance or the barely-there dress she delivered it in. The custom Jean Louis gown, which was flesh-colored, backless, and covered in 2,500 handstitched rhinestones, is said to have been so tight-fitting that Monroe had to be sewn into it just moments before she took the stage. The night would mark one of the star’s last

Still mourning the loss of the Thin White Duke? Maybe a piece of art from the musical icon’s private collection will help ease the sting. Famous for his shape-shifting personas as Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane, and yes, the Thin White Duke, the late David Bowie was perhaps less known as an avid art collector—and, true to his nature, the more idiosyncratic the work, the better.

A highlight of the auction, which will take place November 10–11 in London, is Bowie’s extensive collection of works by the Milan-based Memphis Group. An avant-garde design collaborative formed in the 1980s and led by Ettore Sottsass, Michele De Lucchi, and Andrea Branzi, among others, the group spearheaded the now widely recognized postmodern design movement.
