The Agency celebrated its own kind of European union this past week at the grand opening of The Agency Amsterdam, our first franchise on the continent. Based in The Netherlands’ lively capital and Europe’s commercial center, the Amsterdam office represents an inflection point in our strategic global expansion.
People traveled from around the globe to show their support and partake in the festivities, including CEO and Founder Mauricio Umansky, recently appointed Vice President of Franchise Sales and Operations, Europe John Thorpe, as well as Executive Vice President of Franchise Sales, Jim Ramsay. “Our expansion in Europe is an exciting next chapter for The Agency as we continue to grow our presence in major metropolitan markets across the globe,” Jim said.
Guests were greeted by a grand champagne tower and smooth saxophone sounds as they entered the private event at Pulitzer Amsterdam, overlooking the city’s iconic canals. Red tulips dressed the entire space as a wink to the city and The Agency. Beside a traditional Amsterdam cheese cart displaying a selection of world-renowned local selections, everyone mingled while sipping on specialty cocktails, tasting apps inspired by classic Dutch cuisine, and branded hamburgers and fries.
The real star of the evening was Karina Nippérus, Managing Partner of the Amsterdam office and accomplished local luxury real estate agent. She made the rounds, graciously accepting congratulations, making introductions and connecting with her new colleagues and guests before she and Mauricio closed the evening with speeches.
