After more than a year of finding creative new ways to give back during the coronavirus pandemic, we were thrilled to once again be able to safely team up with our charity partner Giveback Homes for our second annual Build Day in Park City. As part of Giveback Homes’s mission to bring real estate professionals together to pursue social good, this latest endeavor, which began back in 2019 before being unceremoniously delayed, includes two 3-bedroom homes for families in need.
Our agents eagerly got to work organizing supplies, welding, setting up scaffolding, adding siding and painting, putting in a total of 98 hours and making meaningful progress to get these homes ready for when the new owners move in later this summer.
One of these first-time homeowners is Anna May, a local coffee shop manager and mother to a 12-year-old with special needs. After years of rising rent and substandard shelter, she looks forward to being able to provide a safe and secure home for her son. The second home is for Ross and Kayla, a couple who met while teaching overseas before growing their family in Utah. Despite years of saving and building their credit, they still couldn’t manage to afford a place near the school district where Ross teaches. That is, until Giveback Homes partnered with Habitat for Humanity to help.
As if the financial and emotional relief weren’t reasons enough to breathe easy, the new homeowners and their families will also benefit from advanced air purifiers donated by Delos. Because if we learned anything over the past year, it’s the value of clean, healthy air and support from our communities.
