License #: 02114346 With the heart of a philanthropist, spirit of an entrepreneur, head for real estate, and savvy of an experienced marketer, Cara Douglas joins The Agency’s Alamo office to serve buyers and sellers throughout the East Bay and beyond. A Northern California native with deep-rooted ties to the community, she expertly guides clients looking to buy or sell their next home or wanting to maximize investments then skillfully negotiates to help them realize their dreams.
Cara possesses a wealth of professional experience from her more than 15 years flipping homes, building an investment portfolio of residential and commercial properties, marketing brands for Fortune 1000 firms and serving on the Board of Directors for the Gazarian Real Estate Center, CREW Silicon Valley, and Rotary. As an agent, she relishes her chance to help her clients achieve their own version of real estate success, listening attentively to their vision and needs, and treating their homes and investments with the same care and diligence she gives her own. Her loyalty, honesty and integrity have led to strong relationships and accolades, including CREW Silicon Valley’s Rising Star in Real Estate award.
Raised in San Francisco and Half Moon Bay, Cara attended San Diego State University and went on to earn her Master’s in Marketing Communications from California State University, Fresno. She stayed in the Central Valley to raise her three children while maintaining an active career in brand marketing and public relations. Always an innovator, she began buying homes in the early 2000s and turning them into short-term rentals before the market began to boom with the rise of players like Airbnb. This history has given her invaluable perspective on real estate that, combined with her passion, benefits her clients today.
When she’s not helping others find the perfect place to call home and showing listings, Cara devotes her time to the local community. A proud Rotarian, she actively supports dozens of organizations, such as Team in Training, local food banks, and Habitat for Humanity, and always looks for new ways to get involved in her community. While home is her true happy place, Cara also enjoys playing tennis, golf, writing about the local Athlete of the Month in Blackhawk and Northgate Living Magazines, and taking her Bernese Mountain Dog on walks. If you see her on the Iron Horse Trail, don’t hesitate to say hello.
