David Parnes

Originally from London, England, David Parnes brings English charm to the City of Angels. Parnes and his partner, James Harris, have established themselves as two of the top agents serving the Los Angeles luxury market.

After earning his Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Economics and Politics from the University of Manchester, Parnes began working at a hedge fund before moving on to represent a private portfolio of real estate assets in Europe. While taking breaks from the London fog, Parnes spent his summers in Los Angeles and was drawn to the sunshine, warm and friendly people and vast potential of the city's real estate market. As a result, he made the decision to permanently call L.A. home in 2009. Today, he specializes in high-end residential real estate and investment properties in Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Brentwood, Hollywood Hills, Malibu, Pacific Palisades and the greater Los Angeles region.

A "no-nonsense" approach to closing deals, coupled with an extensive network of high-net-worth international and domestic clients, have enabled David and James to reach a steady incline in sales year over year, averaging $250 million from 2015 on and reaching as high as $520 million in a record-breaking year in 2017. These staggering figures earned the partners The Agency’s MVP Award in 2017 and 2018.

Most recently the partners represented the seller in the $120 million dollar sale of 594 S. Mapleton in Holmby Hills—also known as The Manor—the highest sale ever in Los Angeles County and the 4th highest sale in U.S. history. The partners also represented the seller in the $72.5 million dollar sale of 406 Robert Lane in the Trousdale area of Beverly Hills—marking the highest sale in Beverly Hills history. Other important transactions for David and James include representing the buyer of a $69.9 million Malibu estate, the buyer of 630 Nimes Road(Le Belvedere) for $56 million, the seller of a newly developed property at 900 Stradella Rd. in Bel Air for $41 million, the $30 million sale of 438 N. Faring Road in Holmby Hills and the $30 million sale at 200 N. Delfern in Holmby Hills. In the latter two deals, the duo represented both the buyer and the seller.

Additional notable sales by the partners include the sale of a prized property on L.A.'s famous Melrose Place—home to the boutiques of renowned designers such as Oscar De La Renta and Chloé—and the famed Hustler store on Sunset Blvd. for $18.5 million.

Building on this incredible success, David and James expanded their listing inventory this year to include two spectacular Bel Air listings priced at $44 million and $35.5 million, plus a newly developed Sunset Strip estate listed for $43.9 million. Their current listing portfolio is worth an astonishing $1.5 billion and includes some of the city’s most impressive properties. Their exclusive clientele is comprised of countless celebrities, producers, business managers, agents, heads of Fortune 500 companies and numerous high-net worth individuals.

David Parnes has earned many recent accolades including being named in Variety’s Showbiz Real Estate Elite in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2019 and The Hollywood Reporter’s Top 25 Agents in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2019. David and James were also named on The Wall Street Journal REAL Trends list for 2015, 2016, 2017 and in 2018, the partners ranked #9 in America. They were also listed on The Real Deal’s list of top agents for 2017 and 2018 and were ranked #12 on the Los Angeles Business Journal’s list of Residential Real Estate Agents for 2017 and #34 in 2018. In August of 2019, James and David were named in LABJ’s “Who’s Brokering Los Angeles” list, which spotlights “all-star” residential real estate agents in the region.

One of David’s recent personal projects includes the building and sale of a 4,200-square-foot contemporary home in West Hollywood and the purchase of a fixer property in the Bird Streets above Sunset Boulevard, where he plans to live with his wife, Adrian, their two rescue Basset Hounds, Maxi and Bella, and Chihuahuas, Apoosh and Freddie. An avid animal lover, David donates regularly to local and national animal charities. He and his wife, Adrian, welcomed their first child, a baby girl named India Rose Parnes in 2018.
