The perfect blend of British style and American drive, James Harris brings his charisma, intellect and wit to the hit television show “Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles.” Born and raised in London, England, Harris' entrepreneurial drive started at the tender age of 16. After working as a residential investment agent in the United Kingdom, Harris headed west to Los Angeles to broaden his horizon and to enjoy the California sunshine.
Today, Harris is living the American dream, working at The Agency in a city he loves with an incredibly talented group of people. He and business partner, David Parnes, specialize in high-end residential real estate and investment properties in Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Holmby Hills, Sunset Strip, Hollywood Hills, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, Malibu and the greater Los Angeles region.
The partners' "no-nonsense" approach to closing deals, coupled with their extensive network of high-net-worth international and domestic clients, has enabled them to reach a steady incline in sales year over year, averaging $250 million from 2015 on and reaching as high as $520 million in a record-breaking year in 2017. These staggering sales figures earned the partners The Agency’s MVP Award in 2017 and 2018. Harris has proven that exceptional service and personalized client attention is a winning recipe for success.
In 2019, the partners broke an incredible six records. They represented the seller in the $120 million dollar sale of 594 S. Mapleton in Holmby Hills—also known as The Manor— setting the record for the highest sale in Holmby Hills, the 2nd highest sale ever in Los Angeles County and the 5th highest sale in U.S. history. The partners also represented the seller in the $72.5 million dollar sale of a home in the Trousdale area of Beverly Hills—marking the highest sale in Beverly Hills history. They finished the year with a $32.3 million sale in Beverly Flats (the highest in 2019 ), and a $35.5 million sale in Hollywood Hills/Sunset Strip, the area’s highest sale in 7 years.
Other notable sales include a Malibu estate for $69.9 million and 630 Nimes Road (Le Belvedere) for $56 million; in both transactions, James represented the buyer. He also represented the seller of a newly developed property at 900 Stradella Rd. in Bel Air for $41 million and handled the $30 million sale of 438 N. Faring Road in Holmby Hills as well as the $30 million sale at 200 N. Delfern in Holmby Hills—two deals in which James and David represented both the buyer and the seller. James also teamed up with David on the sale of a prized L.A. property on Melrose Place and the sale of the famed Hustler store on Sunset Blvd. for $18.5 million.
Building on this incredible success, David and James have expanded their listing inventory to include a $58 million development opportunity in the Sunset Strip area, a Bel Air estate priced at $44 million and several large trophy estates that are currently under construction. Their current listing portfolio is worth an astonishing $1.2 billion and includes some of the L.A.’s most impressive properties. Their exclusive clientele is comprised of countless celebrities, producers, business managers, agents, heads of Fortune 500 companies and numerous high-net-worth individuals.
