John Thorpe spearheads The Agency’s growth in the European market as VP of Sales & Service—Europe, bringing over 23 years of real estate experience to the brokerage and a specialty in the strategic expansion of real estate franchises. His passion and talent lie in guiding real estate entrepreneurs to achieve new heights, elevating both their production and self-worth. His vast experience in territory management, strategic growth, sales and financial management provide him with a unique skill set as a high-impact leader. Originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, John attended Elon University, where he studied music theory, literature, performing arts and communications. His professional experience encompasses being a top agent, leading a high-producing team, managing a high-end real estate office in Washington, DC and working as a business consultant in the world of franchise sales for the past 23 years. John now splits his time between homes in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Malaga, Spain.
John and his husband Jay are dads to a sweet dog named Fiona, a rescue pup from Puerto Rico. Known worldwide as DJ Maroules, John incorporates music into his daily life. He recently finished his inaugural presidency of the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance, which has over 2,000 members and 58 chapters in the USA and Canada.
