Rodica Balan

Licensed Associate Real Estate Broker
Originally from the Republic of Moldova in Eastern Europe, Rodica has had a longtime passion for real

estate and began investing at the age of 21. She still owns several properties in Moldova and Armenia that are rented to embassies, diplomatic corporations, investors, and businessmen. Rodica has also owned and rented on both the Upper West and the Upper East Side of Manhattan where she is raising her four children, making her particularly empathetic to the joys and challenges of maintaining a comfortable family life in NYC.

Rodica graduated from New York University with honors and a BA, MA, and MPA and she is

fluent in English, Romanian, Russian, conversant in French and Spanish, and possesses basic knowledge of Italian. She loves NYC’s museums, art galleries, and parks, as well as taking her kids swimming, bike riding, and pastry shopping. Her four kids currently attend Lycee Francais de New York and Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School where she is an active parent and volunteer for the Fall Festival, Spring Fair, Book Club, and a Grade Ambassador for the Annual Fund. Ms. Balan also sits on the Board of the Romanian American Chamber of Commerce.

Having worked in the financial services industry for over 12 years and owning her own properties as a

longtime investor, Rodica is armed with a strong knowledge of the markets and bottom line value. She has an expansive database of contacts that benefits sellers, renters, and buyers alike, along with a flair for bringing parties and deals together with her networking and negotiating skills. Her background has also provided her with experience and discretion that comes from working with high net worth clients and NDA agreements.

Rodica has lived in Jersey City, New Jersey; Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn; Sunnyside, Queens; on Manhattan’s Morningside Heights and Upper West Side, all before settling down in the historic Carnegie Hill district of the Upper East Side. This extensive history with NYC’s wonderfully diverse neighborhoods has prepared her to help you go wherever your heart takes you.

Rodica provides her real estate clients with a rewarding full-service experience, handling every detail

from the actual rental, purchase, or sale of an apartment to the move, private and public school application process, and more. Because Rodica knows New York so well and understands that helping her clients involves fitting into a “lifestyle” as much as it does finding a home, she makes a point to be an actively involved and reliable partner to you on the road to your success.
