A diligent, world-traveled and passionate real estate agent, Jahan Shahryar is a Los Angeles native with a breadth of experience from her hometown of Pacific Palisades to Brentwood, Bel Air, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Silver Lake, Echo Park and beyond. A former corporate lawyer, Jahan has worked with her family’s real estate business for years, managing their multi-family investments and renovating single-family homes. Working out of The Agency’s Beverly Hills headquarters, Jahan is extremely driven by the entrepreneurial nature of the real estate industry, remains up to date on marketing trends and enjoys building long-term relationships with clients around the world.
Before transitioning to a career in real estate, Jahan practiced corporate law at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where she worked on high-profile mergers and acquisitions, financings and real estate transactions, including the $294M initial public offering of a real estate development company. Her legal experience gives her a thorough understanding of the contract process, and she excels at negotiating and closing complex transactions under pressure. Jahan has worked with diverse personalities at the top of the corporate and entertainment ladders and brings an infectious energy to her clients every step of the way.
Jahan received her B.A. in Economics and Political Science from U.C. Santa Barbara and her J.D. from U.C. Berkeley School of Law, where she coordinated the International Refugee Assistance Project and served as the Director of Resources at the non-profit, Action for Democracy & Human Rights in the Middle East. In 2016, Jahan co-published "Our Shared Stories: An Afghan Diary" and donated all proceeds to Code to Inspire, the first coding school for girls in Afghanistan. Jahan speaks English, Farsi and Spanish. She has been uniquely shaped by her experience in Washington, D.C., where her late father served as Afghanistan’s first ambassador to the United States and initiated several women’s empowerment initiatives in the country. When not touring real estate with her clients, Jahan can be found hosting dinnertime debates with family and friends and learning about new cultures through her travels.
