License #: 02076692 Ambitious and passionate, Matan joins The Agency Beverly Hills after years of selling real estate in the boutique luxury markets of Santa Barbara and Montecito. With eight figures in sales volume and a wide range of experience selling estates, new developments, land, and multi-family units on the coast, Matan returns to the city to serve his clients and build a life in his hometown of Los Angeles.
Jet-lagged and exhausted from a 15-hour flight, Matan stepped out on Sunset Boulevard for the first time in February of 2007. As the sun set over the Hollywood sign, he stood in awe of his new home. He had just immigrated from Israel following the Second Lebanon War, where he and his family had sheltered against rocket attacks in the port city of Haifa, Matan’s birthplace. Seeking better economic opportunities and peaceful life for their children, his family made the move to Los Angeles, where Matan has been ever since.
Immediately embraced by the Jewish community of Los Angeles, Matan quickly adapted to the move and set out to create a new home in the city. He spent his high school years leading several organizations, including serving as President of BBYO Southern California, a global Jewish leadership organization reaching 70,000 members annually.
Matan jump-started his career as a sophomore in college, obtaining his license at age 19 and serving as a Transaction Coordinator and Executive Assistant to a top producing agent in Santa Barbara. He went on to manage a 74-unit portfolio and lease over $1M in real estate that year. By his junior year, he was serving clients in real estate transactions, selling over $10M in real estate by the time he graduated. He also co-founded and ran a real estate media company, leading to a five-figure exit and providing Matan with deep knowledge of the ins and outs of real estate marketing.
One of Matan’s greatest points of pride is his involvement in the Jewish community of Los Angeles. He is active in the JVS and JFLA organizations, donating 5% of his annual profits to support scholarships and loan programs aimed at uplifting those in need. He actively participates in speaking engagements within these organizations, as well as in the entrepreneurship department of his alma mater at UCSB.
Matan is an avid mountain backpacker, soccer player, and snowboarder. He recently completed a solo backpacking trip through Yosemite to the peak of Clouds Rest, reaching an elevation of 10,000 feet, overlooking the Sierra Nevadas. He plans on completing the John Muir Trail in the coming year.
