Nestled in the heart of downtown Culver City, Wildcraft has managed to outshine many of its competitors through the recent neighborhood’s boom in popularity. Standing tall amongst several tens of other local eateries, bars and artisan cafes, this sourdough pizza joint was not only voted LA Weekly’s Best New Pizzeria is 2013, but they are already preparing for a cosmetic facelift to stay on top of this trendy westside triangle.

Genius Chef Tin Vuong (Little Sister, Abigaile, Dia de Campo) has created specialty selections of Neapolitan sourdough pizza, topped with all kinds of fresh goodies, from porchetta, pancetta and fennel sausage to slow cooked pork belly and cracked soft egg, cooked to perfection in their ten-thousand pound, Italian-imported woodfire oven. If that doesn’t make your mouth water, the brilliantly-made Arancini, which are deep fried, smoked mozzarella-risotto balls will make you forget all about your new year’s resolutions to eat healthy.

Don’t let the restaurant’s casual, laid-back setting deceive you, because their menu offers an array of fine-dining inspired dishes. Some favorites include the Burrata plate, which comes with roasted grapes and speck ham, Brussel Sprouts cooked in almond brown butter and parmesan, and the Olive Oil Poached Tuna served with roasted fresno chilies and watercress, perfect with a glass of wine to accommodate any occasion.

But it doesn’t just end there, Wildcraft offers a selection of craft beers, with several on tap and was even featured in LA’s Beer Week, with Golden Road hosting the Culver City stop. For those day drinkers, start your Sunday Funday with the Wildcraft Flight, which features four different types of 5-ounce, sample sized beers to get your taste buds exciting for a full day of deliciousness. Just wait until its renovations are completed and you’ll soon call Wildcraft Sourdough Pizza your favorite new snack-top on the Westside.
