LA Weekly’s ‘The Essentials’ Brings Food And Wine Feast To Downtown LA

by | Mar 3, 2014

Little Sister’s Chef Tin Vuong

Where can you sample food from 40 of L.A.’s hottest chefs this month? At LA Weekly’s 6th annual The Essentials, a food and wine event happening on Sunday, March 9, from noon to 5p.m. at the LA Mart in Downtown Los Angeles. For a magazine that spends all year reporting on this town’s finest places to grub and sip, it only seems fitting that they host an event we can actually taste.

Feast on standouts Church & State, Bucato, Allumette, A.O.C., Lucques (a 2014 James Beard semifinalist for Outstanding Chef, Restaurateur and Outstanding Service), Little Sister (see Jonathan Gold’s LA Times restaurant review here), Night + Market, and so much more.

Why The Essentials? Because the event will coincide with LA Weekly’s 99 Essential Restaurants piece hitting stands March 7, providing you with a nice cushion to explore the line-up before you line-up in person. Heads up: the LA Marathon takes place the same day, so be sure to plan accordingly.

Snag your tickets here; $45 for general admission and $65 for VIP, which gets you in and eating from noon to 1p.m., a full hour before everyone else is admitted.
