ABC’s Nightline Profiles The Agency In “Selling Luxury” Story

by | Apr 30, 2014

Homes in Los Angeles and Greenwich, CT each sold for over $100 million dollars this month, smashing records and giving an even greater boost to the already booming ultra-high-end home market. So what are the tricks of the trade for the top real estate brokers when it comes to selling these multi-million dollar homes? ABC’s acclaimed news program Nightline looked into it, and turned to The Agency to discover the art of the sale.

“We look at ways of selling a house through its lifestyle versus selling a property through its real estate,” Mauricio Umansky, The Agency’s CEO and Co-founder, tells Nightline. Among the ways The Agency does this, Nightline discovers, is through hosting exclusive brokers-only events where champagne and caviar are served and branded partnership events with super luxury brands like Ferrari.

During the segment, Mauricio, along with The Agency’s Farrah Aldjufrie, gave Nightline a tour of a few of the extraordinary homes listed by The Agency, including 9133 Oriole Way, a contemporary architectural in the highly desirable “Bird Streets” above the Sunset Strip, and 438 N. Faring Road, in Holmby Hills, a 16,000-sq. ft. home designed and built by renowned, London-based Quinn Architects and Italy’s Estate Four.
