The ‘Swankiest’ Home In Hollywood: 2180 Laurel Canyon Blvd.

by | May 28, 2014

Possessing an ample dose of glamour and affection for both new and old design, 2180 Laurel Canyon Blvd. is deserving of Elle Decor’s title as “The Swankiest House In Hollywood”. The 3-bedroom, 2-bath Hollywood Hills abode emits a new sense of vibrancy while still managing to hold on to the surrounding community’s storied past of musical and acting talent.

Leading the transformation of the 2,000 sq. ft. residence was the talented design team of Ron Woodson and Jaime Rummerfield, whose former clients include A-listers John Travolta and Christina Aguilera, and who were able to make drastic changes to the retro dwelling without bringing in the wrecking crew.

“Because of when and where the house was built, we wanted to create an artistic retreat with a ‘70s nod, melded with a chic twist that reflects the hip owners and how they live,” says Woodson. “In keeping with the era of the house, strong period elements like bold graphic wallpaper and mid-century furniture were brought in to set the tone.”

A fearless use of bold textiles and colors is what this design duo is known for among the Hollywood elite, yet the most invigorating takeaway is how all the elements work together to transform the space from “dark and outdated” to “fresh and inviting”.

“One would not expect that hidden behind the doors of this contemporary in Laurel Canyon you would find the glamour and chic of Hollywood of today and yesteryear,” notes Paul Lester of The Agency, “And it’s celebrated in such a beautiful way.”
