Kickstarter Film Fest Comes To Los Angeles

by | Sep 10, 2014

Here is the perfect way to kick off your weekend: attend the Kickstarter Film Fest happening at The Autry at Griffith Park on Friday. This evening of film, food, art, music, tech, and other “Angeleno eccentricities” is all about showcasing Kickstarter, the largest funding platform for creative projects, along with the individuals behind their creations.

It’s interesting to note that Los Angeles fuels more Kickstarter creators than anywhere else in the world—this your chance to see them up close. Free and open to the public, this event is presented in association with Eat. See. Hear., L.A.’s premiere outdoor movie, food truck, and live music event series. You’ll see everything from the first skateboard deck made out of recycled fishnets to popsicles made entirely of raw ingredients to the “world’s fastest hot tub.”

Peruse the “Creators Village” from 6 – 8 p.m., then attend a special screening at 8 p.m. that will feature excerpts from Kickstarter’s favorite animations, short films and documentaries, all of which have been funded by the popular site.

The Kickstarter Film Fest enjoyed a premiere in Brooklyn in July and will stop in London later this year. Picnics, dogs, bikes and blankets are welcomed with open arms.
