Spotlight On: Laguna Beach’s Emerald Bay Community

by | Dec 12, 2014

Laguna Beach is Southern California’s premier coastal destination. This seven-mile stretch of sand and surf offers residents a year-round retreat for all types. One of Laguna Beach’s most sought after communities, Emerald Bay, happens to have the only stretch of private beach, among other spectacular amenities. We sat down with one of the residents to find out more about Emerald Bay and life in Orange County.

How would you describe the lifestyle at Emerald Bay?

The lifestyle is casual, sophisticated, private, and very family friendly. It is a beach community with a private beach, tennis courts, summer camps, exercise programs, classes (such as CPR, paddle board instruction, yoga), swim teams, and kid’s movie nights at the firehouse. It is the perfect place to raise children or have a vacation home. Down the road opens to a quiet, beautiful splendor of an uncluttered, heavenly private beach with fire pits, a playground and beach volleyball. The views are spectacular and the beach is steps from every front door. It is a safe environment with neighbors who not only respect, but also protect the privacy.

I moved to OC from LA 18 years ago, and I love the that LA is only an hour and 20 minutes up the highway. Emerald Bay is one of California’s only private beaches. It is a little slice of heaven, tucked away in the most beautiful and exclusive North corner of Laguna Beach, bordering Newport Beach. Because it is not in the heart of Laguna’s main beach, we don’t get the Laguna traffic congestion. It has beautiful, dramatic sunsets, outlined by the majestic bluffs. It has become this haven of privacy for celebrities and professional athletes. Neighbors respect/protect your privacy and paparazzi are not allowed into the community.

How is Orange County the perfect match for your lifestyle?

Orange County has everything as a community. With Irvine Spectrum, South Coast Plaza and Fashion Island, just 10 minutes in either direction, there’s wonderful shopping, restaurants, and world class golf courses close by. The weather is near perfect 80% of the time. When there are everyday stressors, I just look out to the ocean view to take in the relaxed paradise.
