LA Weekly’s Artopia Comes To DTLA

by | Apr 9, 2015

This year, LA Weekly’s Artopia 2015 is sure to surprise, inspire, and entertain, leaving one with the satisfaction of an evening well spent.  The Container Yard in Downtown LA will be transformed on Thursday, April 30 for Artopia, the theme of which encompasses peace and love.

Do not simply assume that you will only be transported back to an era thirty years past, but this event will showcase all forms of art, painting the spectrum between fashion, food, film, and architecture, all of which are unencumbered by a time period.  The evening will feature a curated selection of artisan vendors, visually stimulating blacklight 3D murals, a performance based photography project called #flowersinyourhair developed by activist Mud Baron from the simple realization that all kinds of people love flowers, as well as other masterpieces.  All of these endeavors will be discovered within the boundaries of a creative space adorned with street art both inside and out.  For those who have yet to visit The Container Yard, this is a chance to do so while simultaneously enjoying a unique art experience that will push visual, experiential, and gastronomic expectations.

It is said that the event is better with friends.  Artopia offers a ‘Friends With Benefits’ discount for those tickets purchased in pairs.  Considering the theme, together does sound quite a bit better.

Artopia will be held at 800 E 4th St. Los Angeles, CA 90013 between 8:00 pm – 11:00 pm on Thursday, April 30, 2015.  This is 21+ only event.  For more information and tickets, please visit LA Weekly’s Artopia 2015 Website.
