July is National Ice Cream month—a “holiday” that well deserves press. To facilitate the celebration, Thrillist created a list of the best ice cream sandwiches to be found in Los Angeles with sweet goodness that is sure to bring you and your children, or the child in you, delight. From vanilla mascarpone ice-cream stuck between two funnel cakes to the more traditional ice cream sandwich at Ace Hotel in Downtown, this month of ice cream appreciation is best experienced at one of these Southern California establishments.
For those residing in the Westwood neighborhood and beyond, Diddy Riese is a ‘must-go,’ earning recognition and press for their creations of gooey ice cream goodness. Here, it’s recommended to try the Peanut Butter Cup Cookie Sandwich. The food scene continues to claim ‘unique and creative’ with the Los Feliz haunt Churro Borough and Cream in Downtown. Order your ice cream between two cinnamon-sugar churro discs or enjoy in a taco complete with up to three flavors of frozenness and sprinkles on top. A Los Angeles ice cream list would not be complete without including the local staple, Coolhaus. With many different flavors of cookies and creams to choose from, one can’t go wrong. For the adventurous ice cream lover, a Fried Chicken & Waffles Sandwichis a suggested eat.
