Coming L.A. Attraction: The Tallest Restaurant West Of The Mississippi

by | Aug 5, 2015

Care for a dining experience as lofty as the views? Come Spring 2016, 71Above will be the tallest restaurant west of the Mississippi, as well as California’s highest building.

Boasting unparalleled views of Los Angeles, 71Above will be serving guests on the 71st floor of the US Bank Tower in downtown. Run by chef Vartan Abgaryan, who worked in the kitchen at East Side favorite Cliff’s Edge restaurant, the fine-dining perch will add yet another perspective on the booming downtown LA restaurant scene.

It’s too early to say what the menu will be, but Abgaryan is promising an elegant chic vibe with a special focus on outstanding wines (a master sommelier will be on hand) and craft cocktails, shares a Forbes article. The 71st floor interior has a throwback Art Deco look with 360-degree views to Long Beach, the San Gabriel Mountains, the Hollywood sign and beyond.

Reading like the intro to a Batman movie, this brief video provides a glimpse into 71Above.
