Take A Shopping Break And Nosh: The Grove In Los Angeles

by | Oct 22, 2015

The only thing more abundant than shopping options at The Grove in Los Angeles are the dining choices. The immensely popular outdoor mall—considered one of the most popular destinations in all of L.A.—has something for everyone. With the famed Farmers Market on one end and an array of restaurants to choose from, even the most discerning foodies will end up satisfied. Here’s a taste of what’s being served:

Magee’s Kitchen

Considered “THE Original Market Restaurant,” Magee’s is known for their corned beef and cabbage, a dish they’ve been serving for decades. Their peanut butter and horseradish is a family recipe from the 1800’s, which is still used to this day.

Monsieur Marcel’s

Get a little taste of France at the charming Monsieur Marcel’s, where you’ll find true bistro-style dishes that are inspired by the region of Provence. They also stock French staples such as Beurre de Caramel and savory condiments, as well as a huge selection of wines from Bordeaux.

Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar and Grill

One of only three locations in the world, Blue Ribbon’s exquisite Japanese fare includes the popular Togarashi Fried Chicken and Oxtail and Bone Marrow Fried Rice. Dine al fresco near the fountain in the center of The Grove while you people watch.

Fritzi Dog

The hot dog craze came—and it looks like it’s here to stay, albeit taken up a notch from the common picnic dog. Fritzi Dog serves up tasty sausages made from antibiotic and hormone-free ingredients. They even offer gluten-free buns, because if you’re going to have a hot dog, then you might as well make it healthier.

Sprinkles Cupcakes

Dubbed “the progenitor of the haute cupcake craze” by The L.A. Times, Sprinkles is the local darling of irresistible mini cakes adorned with the famous “dot.” Formerly from Beverly Hills, the bakery’s outpost at The Grove whips up the same baked treats in flavors such as Green Tea and Caramel Apple for the sweet tooth in you.

Singapore’s Banana Leaf

One of the few Singaporean eateries in the city, the dishes at Banana Leaf will make your mouth water. Family recipes are made fresh daily, and don’t miss out on the Tuna Sambal and the Mee Goreng, all served on a banana leaf, of course.

Pampa’s Grill

When you’re feeling extra hungry and carnivorous, Pampa’s Grill is the place to go.  Get Brazilian Churrascaria, with offerings such as sirloin cap, bacon wrapped chicken and heart of palm salad. The cafeteria-style food line ends at a scale where you weigh the goods and pay by the pound.

The Gumbo Pot

Get a taste of New Orleans comfort food in the heart of L.A. at The Gumbo Pot. The jambalaya is a must, as is the seafood gumbo, then save room for a beignet and a cup of chicory coffee.

Moishes’s

Fancy a shish kabob? Head over to Moishe’s, a Farmers Market staple for over 20 years, where you can get your fill of delectable Middle Eastern fare in the form of shawarmas, falafel and babaganouj.
