Wine enthusiasts across the globe are savoring the glory of the celebratory, season-long holiday, Summer of Riesling. Established by Terroir restaurant owner Paul Grieco in New York City eight years ago, the annual event has picked up worldwide momentum since its inception. From June 21 to September 21, restaurants and wine shops around the world display their love for the aromatic beverage with specialized drink menus, wine tastings, and special events. Here are some of the top restaurants and venues in the U.S. where you can partake in the festivities.
Lenoir – Austin, TX
From now to the end of July, Lenoir will be featuring a special four-course menu that includes a variety of wine selections. Additionally, Riesling and German wines will be served in their wine garden and dining room Tuesday to Saturday between 5pm and 10pm.
Pubbelly – Miami, FL
This Floridian pub features a wine menu that pays homage the Riesling’s traditional roots in Germany. Pair your glass with one of the restaurant’s Asian-inspired dishes.
Cannon Green – Charleston, SC
End the summer on a high note with a five-course dinner at Cannon Green. On August 13 from 7pm-10pm, the restaurant will provide patrons with a dinner that pairs German cuisine and Rieslings for a savory combination.
Augustine Wine Bar – Sherman Oaks, CA
Food & Wine Magazine just recently named this bar one of America’s Best New Wine Bars and for good reason. The restaurant specializes in selling vintage wines by the glass, which is a rare commodity. With a focus on German-made wines for the Summer of Riesling celebration, there’s an opportunity to try a vintage Riesling.
