Wine And Dine To Help Fight Childhood Cancer

by | Jul 6, 2016

The seventh annual L.A. Loves Alex’s Lemonade is an epicurean cookout dedicated to cancer victim Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996–2004), who started her own charity—the eponymous Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation—for raising money to increase awareness of childhood cancer, treatments, and cures. This gourmet foodie’s affair has since raised over $3.2 million to fund childhood cancer research, raising more than $1 million at the 2015 event alone.

The event will be packed with delicious food, wine and cocktails, an abundance of children’s activities, and live and silent auctions offering exclusive experiences and packages. Along with hosts Chef Suzanne Goin and her business partner, Caroline Styne (of Lucques, A.O.C., and Tavern), and chef David Lentz (the Hungry Cat), an outstanding group of newly participating and returning chefs are teaming up to prepare delicacies for the culinary event. Longtime celebrity supporters of the charity like Jimmy Kimmel, Lena Dunham, Laura Dern, Joe Mantegna, and Kirsten Vangsness will likely be in attendance.

L.A. Loves Alex’s Lemonade will be held on September 10 from 12 pm to 4 pm in UCLA’s Royce Quad. General admission starts at $195. Premier tickets available for $1,200 and include a behind-the-scenes tour of the venue, an opportunity to meet the chefs, and exclusive access to the private Chef’s Dinner on September 9. All proceeds will benefit Alex’s foundation.
