Last week, The Agency and Giveback Homes partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) for the fifth year in a row for a build day in Downey, California. Several volunteers from The Agency spent the day putting the finishing touches on new homes within a multifamily community by adding paint to the interior walls and shingles to the exterior. The community will be home to six families—all of whom are excited to be new homeowners and build a solid foundation for their families to grow and thrive.
“This home will provide us peace of mind, happiness, and most of all something to pass on to our children,” said Juan Salazar, whose family is one of the community’s new homeowners.
It was an exceptionally memorable day for The Agency’s Kathrin Nicholson, who has volunteered for every build day The Agency has been a part of over the past five years. “I love finding someone the home of their dreams, but to actually help build it yourself for someone in need is beyond gratifying,” said Kathrin.
