by | Jun 8, 2017

As the summer heats up, the thirst for cool, fruity cocktails to accompany long days spent poolside rises. Whether throwing an outdoor soiree or perfecting your summer glow, a drink in hand makes everything better. Here are some of our top picks for cocktails and other mixed drinks to satisfy your taste buds and keep you cool and refreshed all summer long.

ROSÉ LEMONADE → There’s nothing more peaceful than swaying lazily in a hammock with the summer breeze sweeping by and a glass of lemonade in hand—that is unless a touch of rosé comes into play. Mixing two of summer’s most classic drinks together is nothing short of heaven.

Recipe: Mix one bottle of rosé with three cups of lemonade and one can of club soda into a pitcher of ice.

PEACHED ICED TEA → There’s nothing sweeter than a cool glass of iced tea washed down with a smooth hint of whiskey on a hot summer’s day, and this peached iced tea recipe doesn’t disappoint. Perfect for sipping slow on the patio with friends.

Recipe: Bring one quart of water to boil and remove from heat. Add six black tea bags and steep for five minutes before stirring in two tablespoons of sugar and two cups of peach nectar. Let mixture chill in a pitcher in the refrigerator for at least one hour. Once chilled, remove and pour into a glass and add in a shot of your favorite whiskey to top it off.

SUMMER FRUIT SANGRIA → What happens when you combine all of the season’s favorite fruits—pineapple, mango, cantaloupe, apricot and more—with the refreshing, crisp taste of your favorite white wine? The result is a tropical medley that mesmerizes your taste buds.

Recipe: In a large pitcher, combine six cups of assorted fruits of your choice, one cup of fresh mint leave, three tablespoons of lemon juice, one-half cup of orange liqueur and one bottle of white wine. Chill in refrigerator for one hour and serve on the rocks.

WATERMELON MIMOSA → When brunch and summer melon collide, they create the ultimate summer cocktail: the watermelon mimosa. This cocktail is perfect for a Sunday gathering with friends.

Recipe: Mix one cup of watermelon juice with one-half cup of your favorite champagne.
