The Agency’s October Hotlist

by | Oct 19, 2017

Our round-up of properties and personalities making headlines in October.

BILLY ROSE “Hancock Park has become the place to live if you want a single-family residential experience but still want to be connected to all that is hip and happening in L.A.,” Billy tells LA Confidential. In this month’s issue, he shines a light on the best places to eat, shop and hang in the neighborhood, where he represents a historic mansion by John C. Austin, architect of the Griffith Observatory. Billy also nabbed a spotlight in the issue’s Arbiters section—in good company amongst seven of L.A.’s “absolute top-shelf finest” industry disruptors.

909 S. CURSON AVE. From its striking wood paneled front door to its swoon-worthy interiors, complete with crystal chandeliers, floor-to-ceiling black framed windows and LED rope lighting, 909 South Curson Ave., listed by Azy Farahmand, is the epitome of “camera-ready.” It’s no surprise LA Confidential chose the Miracle Mile stunner as the shooting location for its October cover story, featuring This is Us’ leading man, Milo Ventimiglia.

MIKE LEIPART The Agency Development Group’s Mike Leipart delved into the nuances of buying off floor plans with Mansion Global. With the abundance of new development projects sprouting up across Los Angeles and beyond, savvy buyers are getting in early. Among the common advantages of getting in on the ground floor are a favorable price point and the option to customize the space.

DESERT PALISADES → The artful and innovative Desert Palisades residences, represented by The Agency Development Group, have caught the eye—and affection—of midcentury modern enthusiasts the world over. And with good reason. Set against the striking desert landscape, the homes blend a modern architectural vision with iconic midcentury touches. This month, Curbed featured Desert Palisades in a national story highlighting the appeal of new midcentury modern homes.

1251 SHADOW HILL Should a future James Bond decide to stake his claim in Beverly Hills, our own Mauricio Umansky is willing to bet he’d feel right at home at 1251 Shadow Hill Way. “The house was built for James Bond,” he tells The Toronto Star, which selected the property as its house of the week. The newly-constructed estate, represented by Mauricio, Jon Grauman, and Brendan Fitzpatrick in partnership with Sally Forster Jones and Lisa Sockolov of John Aaroe Group, boasts biometric technology, a 2,000-square-foot auto gallery, and infinity pool with sweeping vistas. A sprawling entertainer’s level is complete with an underwater viewing window of the pool displayed above its Calacatta marble bar—”just the spot for a vodka martini,” The Star asserts. We couldn’t agree more.

12127 IREDELL STREET Showcasing charming period details and enchanting grounds, including a large swimming pool and sunken championship-sized tennis court, the country English estate in Fryman Canyon, represented by Jonathan Ruiz, hit the Luxury Homes + Lifestyle page on Dwell.com. Designed by noted architect Arthur Munson, it enjoys a feeling of absolute serenity adjacent to the Fryman Canyon hiking trails and the best of Ventura Boulevard.

100776 WILSHIRE BLVD. #1704 “I wanted my home to be something befitting of Bruce Wayne’s Gotham Penthouse,” entrepreneur and investor Khalid Al-Askar told The Real Deal, speaking of his 3,400-square-foot condominium at L.A.’s prestigious The Carlyle Residences. Listed by Stacy Gottula and Mauricio Umansky, the residence features three bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms, Venetian plaster walls, showroom closets, an LED-lit fireplace, and stunning views of Century City to Santa Monica.

974 TEAKWOOD ROAD Designed by architect Kenneth Lind, this four-bedroom home in the hills of Brentwood has an undeniable midcentury feel but with modern touches that carry it seamlessly into the 21st century. Listed by Max Nelson, the nearly 3,000-square-foot property, which features a double-sided, indoor-outdoor fireplace and lushly landscaped yard with a pool, scored a feature on Curbed.
