From three-dimensional patterned tile on bathroom walls and a laundry room ceiling to strategically placed brass and gold fixtures, guests of the 2017 Pasadena Showcase House of Design were fascinated by the bold and beautiful updates in configuration found on the grounds and inside of a newly-renovated 1916 English estate.

The Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts, incorporates the vision of more than 20 interior designers to use their talents to transform the landscapes and interiors of some of Pasadena’s most beloved homes, including renowned designer AARON B DUKE, who tastefully remodeled the home’s library into a timeless sanctuary.

An homage to the late Gerald "Jerry" Robertson—who was the tastemaker and visionary for the Polo Ralph Lauren flagship store—the library incorporates rust, taupe and buttery cream fabrics set against cream-colored walls that help to make the room a warm, inviting space. Smaller details like a magnifying glass set on top of a collection of books on a coffee table and a pair of rugged black boots near a set of sitting chairs help to bring out the charm and character of the room.

“His story is something that impacted many people’s lives and careers, including mine, and the library is a tribute to someone I admired very much,” said Mr. Duke.

Other designers used their own inspiration to help bring the home to life in a breathtaking way, all of which is on display in the extraordinary showcase open to the public from April 23rd to May 21st.
