Tuesday Caravan Goes Green at 2341 Gloaming Way

by | Apr 26, 2018

In an event-filled week celebrating sustainability and green initiatives in architecture and design, The Agency was proud to partner with Tesla for a special meeting and tech talk at one of the city’s most innovative—and green-leaning—architectural estates, 2341 Gloaming Way.

Agents met at The Agency’s Beverly Hills, Malibu and Sherman Oaks offices, where they were greeted by a fleet of Model X Teslas and invited to jump behind the wheel for a caravan to some of brokerage’s most anticipated new listings across the city. The drive culminated in a special event at Gloaming Way, set high in the canyons above Beverly Hills.

Built and designed by renowned Swiss architect Roland Schallibaum, the 7,000-square-foot contemporary home is a model of architectural prowess and environmental sustainability, designed to use 30-40% less energy than a typical home of its size. Represented by Paul Lester and Aileen Comora, the steel and glass residence employs a host of innovative, sustainable features in its design; grand-scale living spaces, warmed by radiant heating, flow seamlessly to outdoor living spaces through automatic walls of glass, while rooftop solar panels heat water and the spectacular, zero-edge infinity pool and spa. Retractable roofs, geometric skylights and expansive windows bathe the living spaces in natural light, and drought tolerant landscaping encircles the residence, including a fully walled meditation garden off the home’s stunning front entrance.

Agents enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and sweeping canyon views as they explored the phenomenal home, which features 1,800 square feet of covered outdoor living space, a sophisticated chef’s kitchen replete with Leicht cabinetry, Gaggenau appliances and steel countertops, and custom, Air-Lux windows imported from Switzerland. Austrian white oak floors and a double-sided fire feature lend warmth to a sprawling great room, where the afternoon’s sales meeting and tech talk commenced. Tesla specialist Jacqueline Hamel spoke about Tesla’s mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy before turning the mic over to Paul Lester, who kicked off the sales meeting with spirited remarks about 2341 Gloaming Way and the importance of sustainability in architecture and design.

“With innovation and sustainability at the heart of The Agency’s core values, it was an honor to partner with Tesla for this special event to celebrate those values and explore the ways in which we can incorporate more green initiatives in the world of architecture and real estate,” says Paul. “As one of the most sustainable homes of its magnitude in Los Angeles, 2341 Gloaming Way proved the perfect setting for the event—and the perfect match for Tesla.”
