Pacific Palisades: Looking Ahead On Our One-Year Anniversary

by | May 31, 2018

Nestled between the Santa Monica Mountains and Pacific Ocean, the coveted coastal enclave of Pacific Palisades is renowned for its big views, cool sea breezes and charming, small-town vibe. From the white picket fences of the Alphabet Streets to the enchanted canyons of The Riviera, each neighborhood has a unique appeal entirely its own.

On the heels of our one-year office anniversary, we caught up with Santiago Arana, Managing Partner of The Agency, and Dan Urbach, Partner and Managing Director of Pacific Palisades, to get the inside scoop on the hottest real estate offerings and anticipated happenings in the beloved seaside hamlet.

“Over the past year, we’ve slowly grown our team to include some of the most talented, high-integrity agents in L.A.,” says Dan, who has lived in the neighborhood with his family for more than a decade. “As usual, inventory in the Palisades is tight and demand is extremely high. Excitement is also building around the new Palisades Village scheduled to open at the end of summer, which will undoubtedly draw increased interest on a local and international scale as we head into fall.”

Among the most anticipated projects to grace the Palisades in decades, Caruso’s Palisades Village will bring 50+ new retailers and restaurants—including McConnell’s ice cream, Al Forte by Madeo and Vintage Grocers—to the quaint downtown area at Sunset Boulevard and Swarthmore Avenue, along with a new movie theatre and the second-ever Amazon Books.

“The Palisades market is booming,” says Santiago, a longtime Palisades resident with his wife and sons. “We’re getting ready for summer and celebrating the one-year anniversary of our Palisades office just ahead of the new Caruso project launch. We now have a very strong presence in the area with about 12 outstanding agents in the office ready to serve all of the Palisadians’ real estate needs.”

Santiago currently represents two exceptional land offerings in the area, 14914 Corona Del Mar and 14930 Corona Del Mar, situated on the coveted Huntington Palisades Coastal Bluffs, and 921 Rivas Canyon Road, a striking architectural estate in storied Rivas Canyon. Set on over an acre and bordering Will Rogers States Park and Polo Club, the home is just moments from Palisades Village and the beach and surrounded by miles of picturesque hiking and equestrian trails.

A 25-year Westside real estate veteran, Dan is enjoying his strongest year yet, having sold more than $100 million in the first few months of 2018 alone. Dan represents several standout properties in the area, including 1711 Alta Mura Road, an exquisite ocean-view estate in the Palisades Riviera. Stunningly reimagined in 2010 by renowned local architect Steve Gianetti, the 7,000-square-foot home is sited on a flat, half-acre lot and showcases an expansive lawn, swimmer’s pool, breathtaking gardens and dramatic, head-on city, ocean and canyon views. He also represents 17804 Castellammare Drive, a contemporary beach home on the coastal bluffside enclave of Castellammare. Comprised of two separate lots, the 4,300-square-foot residence showcases an abundance of natural light, soaring ceilings and white-water views from Palos Verdes to Point Dume.

“From our proximity to the ocean to our charming Village, weekly farmers’ market and annual 4th of July parade, the Palisades is a great place to live and raise a family,” says Dan. “There are so many unique little pockets within the neighborhood, each with its own character and charm. As we head into our second year in the Palisades, we look forward to growing the team while continuing to serve as the go-to neighborhood brokerage for one of California’s most desirable coastal communities.”
