Tech-Savvy, Architectural Masterpiece The Starview Estate & Its SureFly Electric Helicopter Unveiled
Posted on 25 Oct
Nestled in the hills of Brentwood with views stretching from the Getty Center to the Downtown L.A. skyline, 816 Glenmere Way, affectionately known as The Starview Estate, is among the city’s most future-forward residences.
Represented by The Agency’s President and Co-Founder Billy Rose and conceived by Rick Perkins of Perkins Development Group, the more than 8,000-square-foot architectural estate is envisioned for the modern, tech-savvy owner. Complete smart home automation, an underground car lift, and full off-the-grid capabilities, powered by solar panels and backed by Tesla batteries, are just a few of the home's tech-minded amenities. Built for a personal drone helicopter, an integrated helipad on the pool terrace is complete with the first American-made, personal hybrid electric helicopter, the SureFly—which has the potential to whisk the estate’s future owner from Brentwood to Burbank in less than 10 minutes flat during rush hour.
Boasting two master suites on separate floors, premium designer finishes and exacting attention to detail, the home features 28-foot wide glass walls that foster a harmonious flow between the sophisticated kitchen and living areas and expansive pool terrace. With its gallery-like design, an enviable lower level is fit for a discerning art collector and includes a large gym and far-infrared sauna.
Billy recently celebrated the grand unveiling of The Starview in true The Agency style with an elegant twilight fete at the property. Co-hosted by Perkins Development Group and Workhorse, the industry-disrupting company behind the SureFly, the night also doubled as the West Coast unveiling of the highly anticipated drone helicopter. The forward-thinking SureFly looked right at home on The Agency-branded helipad and served as the perfect photo opp throughout the night as guests mingled on the expansive pool terrace and enjoyed sushi, cocktails, a DJ and curated art exhibition in the lower-level gallery.
“As a company that prides itself on a commitment to innovation and collaboration, it was an honor partnering with Perkins Development Group and Workhouse to celebrate the unveiling of The Starview Estate and the SureFly,” says Billy. “The Starview represents an exciting new chapter in modern L.A. design and served as the perfect setting for unveiling the equally innovative SureFly. It was a privilege hosting clients, colleagues and friends for a special evening at this remarkable new property."
