The Agency’s Sherman Oaks Office Celebrates One Year

by | Oct 3, 2018

They say time flies when you’re having fun, and that sentiment certainly isn’t lost on The Agency’s Sherman Oaks office, which just celebrated its one-year anniversary with a spirited end-of-summer soirée at a stunning Encino estate.

Led by Managing Partners Craig Knizek and Michelle Schwartz, the Sherman Oaks office had plenty of reason to celebrate, having grown from five agents to nearly 30 and counting in just 12 short months. The office hit the ground running from the start, opening its doors with the record-breaking sale of the historic Smokey Robinson estate, a breathtaking, southern-style compound in Encino represented by Craig, Andrea Korchek and The Agency’s President and Co-Founder Billy Rose. The groundbreaking sale was a direct reflection of the culture of collaboration for which The Agency is known, one which continues to shape and inspire the growth of the Sherman Oaks office—and our 23 other office locales around the globe.

Over the past few years, Sherman Oaks has emerged as the sophisticated city at the heart of Valley life. The neighborhood’s proximity to CBS Radford Studios has long drawn Hollywood elite looking to stretch their arms and escape the glitzy glamour of Tinseltown. Striking the perfect balance between suburban charm and big-city appeal, a host of upscale shops, chef-driven restaurants and top-ranked schools continues to attract a new wave of young families and creative professionals drawn to the community’s laidback, high-end vibe. The neighborhood’s gorgeous homes—and enviable acreage counts—don’t hurt, either.

“Our Sherman Oaks office has broken records from Encino to Studio City, with an average selling price of $1.8 million,” says Craig, one of The Agency’s founding members and a longtime resident of Sherman Oaks. “Of all sales in Encino and Sherman Oaks over $7 million, The Agency has been involved in five, claiming 55% of that ultra-luxury market, and of the 18 sales in Encino over $6 million, The Agency has been involved in half. I’m proud to attribute our success to The Agency’s culture of collaboration and tight-knit family values, which we continue to hold dear as we grow and expand our reach within the community.”

Craig currently represents several standout properties in the area, including 16144 High Valley Place, an exquisite, newly built estate in the exclusive Royal Oaks neighborhood of Encino, and 3931 Oeste Avenue, a private, craftsman-style compound in the hills of Studio City.

Michelle has been immersed in Los Angeles real estate since childhood, bringing an equal grasp of L.A.’s 310 and 818 markets to the office. She represents 4950 Mammoth Avenue, an elegant, Hamptons-style farmhouse in Sherman Oaks, and 4745 Ventura Canyon Avenue, a charming, traditional home on one of the neighborhood’s most beloved, tree-lined streets.

4746 Louise Avenue, a newly built, transitional-style home in Encino, represented by Maya Librush, served as the perfect venue for the recent birthday bash, its expansive backyard decorated with giant red balloons by The Gift Barn. Guests mixed and mingled poolside and enjoyed sushi by Soosh LA, cocktails curated by Choux Choux LA and VDKA 6100, and custom, The Agency-branded treats by Treat House as they toasted to an eventful year in the Valley.

“It was so much fun celebrating our one-year anniversary with family and friends at such a special home in the neighborhood,” says Michelle. “Craig and I are proud to have played a role in helping shape The Agency’s culture from its inception, and we’re honored to bring those same values to the Sherman Oaks office. We look forward to continuing to grow the team while serving as the Valley’s go-to neighborhood brokerage and painting the town red.”
