The Agency’s December Hotlist

by | Dec 27, 2018

What better way to gear up for that glitzy ball drop than with a look at the hot properties and personalities making headlines in December? From a midcentury modern estate with ties to Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra to a Palm Springs abode that comes with a coveted piece of Hollywood memorabilia, we’re closing out 2018 with a bang.

SANTIAGO ARANA → The Agency is dedicated to giving back, and that sentiment certainly isn’t lost on Managing Partner Santiago Arana, who is a proud supporter of Giveback Homes, a community of real estate professionals committed to creating social change by building homes for deserving families around the world. When the organization contacted Santiago and let him know about a family in his native Bolivia desperately in need of a larger, more functional home, he donated the total needed for construction. Read more about Santiago’s involvement with Giveback Homes on Barron’s Penta.

7039 SENALDA ROAD  The one-time home of ‘Dexter’ star Michael C. Hall, this midcentury residence in the Outpost Estates neighborhood of Hollywood Hills built by famed architect Hal Levitt nabbed a feature in Los Angeles Times. Represented by Jeff Kohl and Josh Myler, the multilevel home showcases beamed ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows that frame far-reaching canyon views and flood the living spaces with natural light. A lush backyard features a swimming pool nestled into the landscaped hillside and an overhanging lounge that sits above the water.

WILLIAM BAKER  Whether driving clients across town for a showing or joining fellow agents on Tuesday caravan, real estate agents spend a lot of time in their cars—and take pride in their rides. This month, Mansion Global got the scoop on some agents’ embarrassing, car-related moments, and our own William Baker dished on an embarrassing experience with his Porsche and an actress-client that proves car trouble happens to the best of us.

SOUTH FLORIDA EXPANSION → It’s no secret The Agency loves exotic beach locales. On the heels of our recent expansion to South Florida with a new office in Boca Raton, we’re proud to continue growing our presence in the Sunshine State with new offices in Aventura and Coral Gables. The Agency Development Group will also be joining the fold, representing three new development projects in the area. Get the full scoop on The Real Deal.

BYRDVIEW  This iconic midcentury modern estate with ties to Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland and Marilyn Monroe made headlines in Town & Country and Robb Report. Situated atop a private promontory in Chatsworth, California, the 8,161-square-foot home, represented by Craig Knizek and Barrie Livingstone, boasts 360-degree views of the surrounding valley and mountain ranges and Chatsworth Nature Preserve through walls of glass. Built in 1949 by architect William Pereira, the home has been featured on episodes of Mad Men and Californication, and was once leased by Old Blue Eyes himself.

447 W. MARISCAL ROAD → This midcentury home in the Little Tuscany neighborhood of Palm Springs comes with a coveted piece of Hollywood memorabilia: a piano that once belonged to Dean Martin. The “King of Cool” used to spend Sundays at the iconic estate, where he would host afternoon tea dances with his wife Jeanne. The over 2,300-square-foot home, represented by Brandi Pratt, caught the eye of Palm Springs Life.

METROPOLIS Ever wondered what life is like inside Metropolis Los Angeles? Host Sara Gore and Million Dollar Listing L.A.’s James Harris took viewers on an exclusive tour of Penthouse 3906 on NBC’s Open House. One of the few two-story penthouses in all of Los Angeles, the 3,500-square-foot residence is situated atop the 39th floor of Metropolis Tower I and showcases panoramic views of some of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Watch the full episode on NBC.

GANSEVOORT VILLAS & TRITON VILLA → Country and Town House shined a spotlight on 10 of the best Caribbean properties on the market and featured two of The Agency’s own. Touted by the publication as “8,260 square foot of pure dreamy luxury,” Gansevoort Villa Turks & Caicos, represented by Nieve O’Niell and Brendan O’Neill, showcases four bedrooms, five baths and an infinity pool overlooking panoramic ocean views. Set on a calm white-sand beach, Triton Villa, represented by Ian Hurdle, is pure tropical bliss, complete with seven bedrooms—each with a private ocean-view deck—plus an outdoor movie theatre with a firepit and beachfront yoga pavilion—because, why not?
