The Agency Agenda Park City: What to Do + Where to Go This April

by | Mar 26, 2019

Our picks of places to go and things to do to make the most of your month in Park City.

KICK OFF SPRING HERE – Running through April 4th, Spring Grüv celebrates the changing seasons with après ski celebrations, culinary events, children’s activities and free concerts in Park City Mountain Village and Canyons Village. Among this week’s activities are a meet and greet with the resort’s amazing Avalanche dogs and ski patrollers, and live music events at Umbrella Bar and PayDay Deck.

SKIM & SPLASH HERE – The highlight of Spring Grüv is the the famed Pond Skimming Contest, a Park City tradition for 23 years. This year’s event takes place on April 6th outside Red Pine Lodge, when contestants dress in costumes (the crazier the better) and attempt to cross a 100-foot pond on skis or a snowboard. Spectators need a gondola ticket to watch, and contestants must be 10 years or older.

CARVE YOUR LAST TURNS HERE – All good things must come to an end. The 2018-2019 ski season officially comes to a close on April 7th with Closing Day at Park City Mountain Resort & Canyons Village and Closing Day at Deer Valley. The end of winter activities means the summer mountain biking season is right around the corner, with trails throughout Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Village opening in May and June respectively. Deer Valley Resort offers nearly 70 miles of mountain biking trails, with the season also kicking off in June.

LAUGH HERE – An all local cast takes the stage at Egyptian Theatre for the annual Park City Follies, “a lampoon of all things Park City.” Hilarity, wit, sarcasm and spoof (think a Real Housewives of Park City edition) ensue, geared for the 17 and older crowd. Tickets always sell out early, but you can try your luck for shows running April 26-28 & 30 and May 1-5.

FEAST HERE – Home to a thriving, farm-to-table culinary scene, Park City features regular events for the foodie inclined and those looking to add a little spice to their home-cooked meals. Mindful Cuisine hosts its first grilling class of the season on April 6th, Spring Dinner, featuring an Italian-inspired dish, Grilled Lamb & Risotto Carbonara. Sign up by April 4th to secure your spot. Mindful Cuisine’s second class on April 13th, Flavors and Colors of Spring, celebrates fresh seasonal flavors and ingredients at their peak flavor. Sign up by April 11th to secure your spot.
