Our picks of places to go and things to do to make the most of your month in and around Park City.

CELEBRATE THE 4TH HERE – The 4th of July holiday is a very big deal in Park City, as people come from far and wide to celebrate Independence Day. The festivities kick off July 3rd in Canyons Village with free live music, kid-friendly activities and a colorful fireworks display. The July 4th holiday features a full day of activities, including a pancake breakfast at 7am, Cole Sport 5k Fun Run at 8am, the spectacular parade on Historic Main Street at 11am, and live music and refreshments at noon at the city park. The Park City Mountain base area offers fun for the whole family, live entertainment, a barbecue and a fireworks show at dusk.

GET YOUR COWBOY FIX HERE – The annual Oakley Rodeo gallops into town in time for the 4th of July celebration. Located in the town of Oakley, 15 minutes from Park City, the event features four fun-filled days of activities and celebrations, including the PRCA Rodeo, a 5k Race, the July 4th parade, cookouts, auctions, mustang exhibitions and fireworks displays every night at 8pm from July 3rd to July 6th.

SIP AMONG GROWN UPS (AND ZOO ANIMALS) HERE – The 21 and over crowd, this one’s for you. On July 17th, Utah’s Hogle Zoo offers a fantastic adult’s only evening out, and all for a good cause. During the Zoo Brew, local breweries set up shop throughout the zoo, and all concessions stands are open for an evening of Beastro pub fare. Guests may sip and savor among the zoo’s more than 800 animals, including elephants, zebras and ostriches. The best part is 100% of the proceeds go toward saving animals and habitats in the wild. Hogle Zoo is one of the most celebrated attractions in Utah, situated on 42 acres of tree-lined pathways at the mouth of Emigration Canyon in Salt Lake City.

GET SILLY HERE – A summer visit to Park City isn’t complete without a fun-filled day at The Park Silly Sunday Market, held every Sunday from 10am to 5pm on Historic Main Street. The eco-friendly, open-air market and street festival celebrates the community, featuring a range of vendors, artists, farmers, children’s activities and live entertainment. Antiques, one-of-a-kind finds, delicious gourmet food and locally grown produce can be found with different vendors featured each week. Be sure to bring along cash, canvas bags and a leash for canine guests.

ROOT FOR THE HOME TEAM HERE – What better way to spend a summer evening than taking in one of America’s favorite pastimes. Head over the ballpark to catch the Salt Lake City Bees in action. The Minor League team is the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels and plays its home games at Smith’s Ballpark. Check out the full schedule for July home games here.
