After much anticipation, the curtain was finally lifted last week on interior designer Windsor Smith’s new home, 227 N. Tigertail in Brentwood during a star-studded event. VIP guests mingled with Hollywood A-listers including Ellen Pompeo and husband Chris Ivery, Djimon Hounsou, Francesca Eastwood, among others.
Windsor is known for her modern-meets-classical point of view and strong celebrity following—Gwyneth Paltrow is a prominent fan and purchased Windsor’s first home in Mandeville Canyon in the early 2000s. Windsor joked to The Wall Street Journal that Gwyneth had been to the newly completed Brentwood property many times, but having purchased two of her homes already she “isn’t allowed to buy it.”
227 N. Tigertail is represented by The Agency’s Santiago Arana and Anthony Buttino and spans 13,000 square feet. It includes a main house with six bedrooms and rooftop terrace as well as a separate guest pavilion with a screening room, plus an entertainment room with a bar and walls of glass that open onto the garden.
From the moment of arrival, the estate’s balance of grandiose architectural elements and thoughtful, understated details were on full display—the interiors feature a stunning palette of grey, white and dark ebony hues, detailed parquet wood floors, intricate stonework and soaring ceilings. As guests walked through the estate’s Georgian manor-style entry, they were offered appetizers by DCLA and Beboe CBD pens—a uniquely California combination that echoed the estate’s blend of modern and traditional styles.
“It was amazing to celebrate Windsor’s incredible hard work and toast to her and her team,” says Santiago. “The feeling inside the home is hard to describe, it’s elegant yet comfortable and the views sweep all the way from Brentwood right down to the ocean.”
Outside, guests mingled on the expansive lawn, taking in the lush treetop views and a specially choreographed performance by local synchronized swimming troupe the Aqualillies in the backyard’s zero-edge pool.
Throughout the evening, attendees sipped glasses of chilled chardonnay and sparkling rosé from Malibu Rocky Oaks Estate Vineyard, cocktails made with Virginia Black Whiskey as well as Peroni beers. As the event came to a close, attendees enjoyed slices of delicately sweet mille crêpe cakes from Lady M Confections.
