Cheers To Eight Years of The Agency

by | Sep 17, 2019

New offices, top honors and record-breaking sales—The Agency had a lot to celebrate at its eighth anniversary party. Agents, staff, family and friends gathered for a late summer fête filled with cool drinks and (of course) plenty of delicious food.

To kick things off, Managing Partner Santiago Arana and Founding Partner Blair Chang welcomed guests with spirited remarks before Co-Founders Billy Rose and Mauricio Umansky addressed the guests with congratulatory toasts.

“When I looked out onto the crowd, it was such a beautiful site to see. There were so many people who have been with us from the beginning alongside many new Agency members,” noted Billy. “I am grateful for each and every one of our Agency family members who keep our spirit and culture strong as we grow.”

“I honestly cannot believe it’s been eight years—when I was giving my toast, I was struck by how much we have done, how much we have grown,” Mauricio said. “I am so proud of each and every one of our team members. It felt amazing to raise a glass with all of them and toast to many more years of success, good health and happiness.”

And there was plenty to celebrate. The Agency’s eighth year was one for the books—the team unveiled new offices in La Paz, Todos Santos and Carmel-by-the-Sea and celebrated our fourth consecutive year on the Inc. 5000’s list of fastest-growing private companies in the country. Fourteen of our own topped REAL Trends’ The Thousand and the company marked the successful launch of its first-ever Forum conference, which was attended by our agents from around the globe.

Under the shade of towering oak and eucalyptus trees, guests paired up for lawn games, kicked back on plush lounges provided by Vesta and snacked on fresh backyard BBQ-themed fare by DCLA Catering—from cheeseburger sliders and french fries to cucumber salad, grilled cheese and soft-baked pretzels.

Local DJ DevvLov provided chilled out beats while guests took in incredible arrangements by XO Bloom and Bloom Balloon, and sipped on Peronis, freshly mixed cocktails and sparkling wine from the on-site Bubble Tap trailer. Photographers Alfred and Kevin of Neue Focus stayed close by, snapping pics of every dance move, corn hole win and impromptu whirl on the tree swings. The celebration lasted well into the night, with Mauricio ordering pizzas from Encino’s Mulberry Street Pizzeria for the after-hours guests.
