Good Vibes Only: Four Homes Designed For Harmony

by | Sep 9, 2019

Feeling at home also means feeling at peace, and these four residences have been thoughtfully designed—some using the ancient energy-focused Chinese art of placement, Feng Shui—to maximize good vibes and positive energy.

720 Griffith Way, Laguna Beach

Built in the 1940s, this pair of beach cottages boasts an eclectic mix of retro-chic style and breezy, new-age serenity. Crystal chimes are hung prominently in the living room, and an amphitheater yard is the perfect setting for relaxing outdoor movies or transporting musical jam sessions. Represented by Michael Caruso and Phillip Caruso, these quaint, beachy abodes will capture the heart of today’s bohemian-spirited nature-lovers.

Oakview, Montecito

Represented by Eric Haskell, this sprawling estate harmonizes classic, East Coast-inspired American architecture with contemporary amenities and custom details. Designed in 2010 by award-winning Santa Barbara-based architect Don Nulty with the help of Feng Shui master David Cho, Oakview’s 10,000-square-foot main house is brimming with soul-soothing elements and chic modern comforts. Adding to its paradisiacal vibe are stunning horizon views of the bright blue Pacific and a comfy outdoor living room with a koi pond.

8517 Franklin Avenue

The good vibes in this Hollywood Hills area home greet you at the entrance, which is designed with a canopy of mature trees, as well as succulents and tropical greenery. Lush foliage is present throughout the home, along with rich textures and finishes—think suede paneled doors and eye-catching slabs of Nero Marquina marble—which add to the overall feeling of thoughtful, high-quality design. Further enhancing the home’s unique vibe is the unusual, boldly purple geode crystal in one of its five palatial bathrooms. 8517 Franklin is represented by James Harris, Michelle Ficarra and David Parnes.

1100 S. Hope Street PH#201

An oasis in the midst of Downtown L.A., this penthouse was professionally arranged by Feng Shui master Suzee Miller, author of The Myth, Magic & Reality of Feng Shui in Real Estate and the creator of the International Feng Shui Certification. Represented by Mauricio Umansky, Greg Stangl and Arrington Williams, this 2,769-square-foot home is located within the Luma high rise in the lively South Park neighborhood, moments from art galleries, concert venues and hip eateries.
