Star From the Jurassic Era Steals the Show at Haute Home Launch

by | Oct 21, 2019

He wasn’t quite the life of the party, but the party certainly revolved around him. The guest of honor—a $1.5 million Allosaurus skeleton on loan from a private collector—was admired by party-goers as they toasted the launch of 1300 Beverly Estates Drive. He roamed the earth some 155 million to 145 million years ago, but found his best digs yet in this 12,500-square-foot hillside home located minutes from downtown Beverly Hills.

Designed by L.A.-based Ameen Ayoub Design Studio in collaboration with interior designer Lorenzo Cascino of Italian design firm Visionnaire, the home is at once incredibly glamorous, modern and inviting. Inside, sweeping views of Beverly Hills and the Pacific Ocean in the distance were framed through double-height, floor-to-ceiling glass walls, which stretch nearly the entire length of the home.

“The more time I spend in this estate, the more I fall in love with it,” says The Agency’s co-founder and partner, Blair Chang, who represents the property along with Stefan Pommepuy and Drew Fenton of Hilton & Hyland.  “From the smallest details to the grandest statement pieces, every element of this home is beautifully and thoughtfully designed. The materials, the layout, the amenities, the city and ocean views—the dinosaur! It’s a very special home.”

As DJ Politik spun beats on the 10,000-square-foot terrace, guests sipped on Peroni beers, Sauvignon Blanc and rosé from Malibu Rocky Oaks as they took in the home’s many amenities—from the ground-level fitness center to the main level’s showroom garage (which hosted a vintage red Ferrari for the night) and top level’s master suite with marble-clad ensuite bath. The Malibu vineyard also staged the expansive, glass-enclosed wine wall on the estate’s lower level. Chef Giampiero Cascino of Italian Ingredients—brother of the designer, Lorenzo—flew in from Italy for the event, and served up hand-crafted light bites.

“After seeing the process over the past four years, I loved seeing this estate come alive with people and music,” says Stefan. “In addition to being an amazing retreat for someone looking to get some peace and quiet, this home was designed to host epic events. And that view! I can’t  imagine a better backdrop to welcome your guests.”

Among the estate’s most head-turning elements—in addition to its custom light fixtures and unique artwork—is the main living room’s 22-foot-tall, double-sided Aquitanian black marble fireplace. See more event photos below.
