The Agency Hits the Links for L.A. Family Housing

by | Dec 3, 2019

The Agency team came out in full force the 9th Annual Putt an End to Homelessness Tournament the Angeles National Golf Club last month. The event raised funds to support families and individuals experiencing homelessness. Put on by L.A. Family Housing and co-chaired by Jonathan Ruiz, the organization’s newest board member and founding member of The Agency.

“With 110 golfers, 26 sponsors, this was our most successful tournament yet,” said Jonathan. During a pre-tournament breakfast, participants listened to testimonials to individuals directly impacted by LAFH’s efforts as well as Stephanie Klasky-Gamer, who is President of LAFH. Later, attendees bid on a range of items in a silent auction.

As one of the largest nonprofits working to end homelessness in Los Angeles, LAFH serves 11,000 people each year and owns 26 properties that provide interim, supportive and affordable housing. LAFH provides housing as well as support services to help individuals find housing and remain stable in their homes while simultaneously developing real estate to create more units of interim and permanent housing.

“Together, we exceeded our goal of $110,000 and had a lot of fun in the process,” says Jonathan. “I’m incredibly honored to be a part of LAFH, an organization doing so much to support our most vulnerable neighbors. Because of the generosity of everyone that played golf, we can move at least 18 people into a home this month.”
