Posted on Wednesday, March 13, 2019.

Whether sleek gallery spaces, lively art festivals or world-class photography exhibitions, every destination has its own artistic personality and cultural identity. Park City, home to the world-famous Sundance Film Festival, is a mountain destination with a thriving art scene. Below are some of our favorite artful attractions to explore when taking a break from the ski slopes and hiking trails.

KIMBALL ART CENTER (KAC) - A pillar of the community since 1976, KAC is dedicated to providing arts access, education and experiences through exhibitions, art programs and events. It offers free admission to its museum, which features renowned exhibitions by local and nationally acclaimed artists, as well as visual art classes to kids and adults. Currently in the main gallery is Cold Places: Photographs by Sue Flood, an exhibition running through April 7.

KIMBALL ARTS FESTIVAL - Plan your summer escape around the 50th annual event, one of the top ranked art festivals in the country. Running August 2-4, the festival takes place along historic Main Street and features artists from across the U.S. and Canada. Last year’s event had a record 995 artist applicants, delicious artisan tastings, a beer garden and family-friendly events. The event is KAC’s largest fundraiser, with proceeds going toward art education, scholarships, after-school art programs and more.

MANGELSEN - No visit to Park City is complete without a visit to this Images of Nature Gallery on Historic Main Street. Home to many works by the famed Thomas Mangelsen, the gallery features stunning photography of wildlife and landscapes.

DB FINE ART - The international fine art gallery, featuring artist David K. Beavis, features vivid nature images and customizes works to be sized, framed and printed in the medium of your choice. With a modern yet classic feel, gallery walls are lined with striking photographs from around the world.

TERZIAN GALLERIES - Specializing in the fields of painting and sculpture, Terzian Galleries features contemporary art by new, emerging and established artists from Utah and throughout the U.S. Its diverse collection and featured exhibitions can be found at the gallery, founded by Karen Terzian in 2004, at the corner of Main and Herber.
