From colorful street murals to sleek gallery spaces, monthly art walks to world-class exhibition halls, every city has its own artistic personality and cultural identity. Below are some of our favorite artful attractions in Phoenix and Scottsdale.
SCOTTSDALE ARTWALK - Located primarily along Main Street and Marshall Way in Scottsdale’s historic Downtown, this long-running artwalk claims to be America’s original. Taking place every Thursday evening all year-round, local galleries open their doors to the public from 7 to 9 pm for an evening of art and imbibing. The city even offers free trolly and horse-drawn carriage rides to transport visitors from parking facilities throughout the Arts District and Downtown.
MURALS OF PHOENIX - From elaborate graffiti to vibrant murals, Phoenix is home to a thriving street art scene. Founded through a collaboration of artists, photographers and art enthusiasts, Murals of Phoenix has spearheaded efforts to provide the Phoenix community with a repository of local murals. The organization has mapped out some of the city’s most impressive works, and helps connect local artists with commission opportunities. Visit its website for an interactive map of the city’s latest street murals and get ready to soak up some culture.
