The Wall Street Journal recently featured One&Only Mandarina Private Homes along with one of its founding homeowners, San Francisco Giants pitcher Mark Melancon. As long-time admirers of the One&Only experience, the Melancons jumped at the opportunity to be among the first to own a piece of the One&Only lifestyle, purchasing a 19,000-square-foot oceanside villa at Mandarina. Mandarina is a new master-planned community on Mexico’s pristine Riviera Nayarit, featuring the new One&Only Mandarina beach resort and the first collection of One&Only villas to own in the world.
With Melancon’s busy schedule keeping him from visiting the site, the Mandarina team flew to California to recreate the floor plan on Melancon’s home field at Oracle Park. The Mandarina team marked the outlines of the rooms on the outfield grass so Melancon and his wife could “walk” through the near-finalized design. There to document the action on the field was The Wall Street Journal for its piece “The Ultimate Home Field Advantage,” which was also featured in Mansion Global. Once completed, the villa will feature eight bedrooms, a game room, two swimming pools, a fitness studio and a wine cellar. The Melancon’s villa is one of 55 in the One&Only Mandarina Private Homes collection, neighboring the new One&Only Mandarina resort. As Melancon told the WSJ, his wife fell in love with One&Only on a family trip to the Bahamas as a child. She also included a stay at one of their hotels on their wedding bucket list, but owning a home at one of their resorts proved an even better option.
The villas within One&Only Mandarina Private Homes were designed to blend with the surrounding tropical jungle landscape and capture far-reaching ocean and mountain views. Homeowners enjoy all of the services and resort offerings of One&Only Mandarina, including exceptional dining destinations (family-friendly and adult-only), a signature One&Only Spa, a private beach club and a spectacular 85,000-square-foot kids’ club with a butterfly sanctuary, nature trails and indoor entertainment. Owners also enjoy priority reservations, preferred pricing and signing privileges at the resort, as well as One&Only turnkey property management services and the option to place their villa in the Villa Rental Program, with rentals managed by One&Only Resorts.
In addition to One&Only amenities, residents also have access to the resort offerings of the master-planned Mandarina community, including the world-class Mandarina Polo & Equestrian Club, a farm-to-table dining experience, and The Outpost, a family-friendly destination featuring a jungle adventure course, miles of hiking and biking trails, sports fields, and a plush movie theatre.
Mandarina, which will also feature the Rosewood Mandarina resort and residences, is situated less than an hour north of Puerto Vallarta along a one-mile stretch of soft sandy beach. Thousands of federally protected acres in the Sierra del Vallejo Mountains surround the property, meaning privacy and view lines will remain protected. The nearby Puerto Vallarta airport welcomes direct two- and three-hour flights from the southern United States, as well as direct flights from a host of other U.S., Mexican and Canadian cities.
With all villas in The Founders’ Collection of One&Only Mandarina Private Homes now sold, only a limited number of villas remain in The Legacy Collection, which offers the last chance to enjoy preferred pricing.
