End of Summer Adventures in Park City

Posted on Wednesday, September 11, 2019.

Summer is winding down, but there’s still time to savor the season. From invigorating relay races to enthralling art festivals, here are five of our favorite end-of-summer adventures in and around Park City.

GET YOUR MOUNTAIN FIX - Purchase an Adventure Pass to get last-minute, end-of-summer access to the Park City Mountain’s Adventure Park. Through the end of September, you can take on the awesome Alpine Slide, trek the peaceful hiking trails, play a round of mini golf or master the rock-climbing wall.

RUN LIKE CRAZY HERE - Gather a few friends and take part in the new Ragnar Salt Lake City Sunset, a one-day event taking place Sept 28. A four-person relay team will start at This Is The Place Heritage Park and, basically, try to outrun the sun on a 6.5-ish mile trail loop, ultimately completing about 26 miles.

SAY FAREWELL TO SUMMER HERE - On September 21, Ogden will host the 18th annual Harvest Moon Celebration to mark the last day of summer. From noon to 8pm, the event will provide music, food and local art and goods from local businesses—it’s the perfect way to transition into a new season.

TAILGATE HERE - Get ready to cheer on the University of Utah Utes as they take on Washington State on September 28 at this tailgate, hosted by the S.J. Quinney College of Law. Stop by for snacks and drinks before kickoff at the Rice Eccles Stadium.

GET ARTSY HERE - On September 21 and 22, the free Urban Arts Festival will showcase more than 150 artists and offer live music and dance performances (including breakdancing battles). Hosted by the Utah Art Alliance, this is the state’s largest free art event—don’t miss it.
