Ready For Sundance: The Agency Park City’s Bejeweled Fete and Hottest Properties

by | Jan 20, 2020

There may be snow on the ground (and on the slopes), but make no mistake, Park City is having its hottest moment of the year. The 11-day Sundance Film Festival kicks off January 25, drawing the biggest names in film from around the globe.

The Agency Park City, and agents from our L.A. headquarters, including President and Co-Founder Billy Rose, will be front and center for all the action. If you’re in town Saturday, January 25, stop by O.C. Tanner Jewelers at 416 Main Street from 2 to 5 pm to meet The Agency Park City team and Billy himself while browsing new jewelry designs and nabbing some Sundance swag.

And the spotlight won’t just be on the celebrity-packed films, parties and panels. The incredible properties and estates that line the streets of Old Town and the world-class slopes are quite the scene stealers. Here, our Park City real estate experts share their thoughts on the local market, some of their most marvelous listings and their thoughts on what makes Park City a picture-perfect mountain getaway—every day of the year.

“I’m seeing a continued trend of new residents moving to Park City and its surrounding areas,” says Mike Mazzone, Managing Partner at The Agency Park City. “These new residents are attracted in part by exciting new developments coming online. Generally, prices continue to rise at a reasonable pace, however, buyers have many choices and are shopping around for the style and feel they want. There are some good deals to be had on some of our established inventory as well.”

Among Mike’s top listings are 2755 Telemark Drive, a warm modern estate minutes from Deer Valley Resort that is outfitted with a dry sauna, two master suites, and a stunning central flagstone fireplace; 2516 Larkspur Drive, a 5,000-square-foot estate in Park Meadows that boasts incredible views of the city below and local ski areas and 205 Woodside Avenue, a unique Old Town residence located in the heart of Park City, moments from world-class recreation at Park City Mountain and Deer Valley resorts as well as dining and shopping on Historic Main Street.

“If 2020 is anything like the start of this year, it is going to be very busy,” says Managing Partner Charlie Taylor. “The market has much to offer in varying price points, including The Ascent, our new ski-in-ski-out development at the base of the Canyons Village at Park City Mountain. As Sundance ramps up, it is fun to see new people in town from various parts of the country and world. The interest level in this area is high and the snowfall and skiing have been terrific.”

Among Charlie’s local listings (which he represents along with fellow Park City agent, Jake Doilney) is the stunning, spacious modern mountain retreat at 7495 Purple Sage, which sits on nearly four acres and promises unforgettable views of the Wasatch Mountains through its stunning floor-to-ceiling windows. For those looking for some true peace and quiet, 2138 Preserve Drive is perched on more than seven scenic hilltop acres within The Preserve, a gated community surrounded by 450 acres of dedicated open space. Designed and built by family-run Thorsen Design firm, this estate is filled with view-capturing features and can still be personalized to the buyer’s tastes.

Privacy meets convenience at 8066 Sunrise Loop, a lodge-like escape located on private acreage within the prestigious Promontory Club. Residents of Sunrise Loop can enjoy access to the club’s two championship golf courses and 12 clubhouses and equestrian facilities. Take in panoramic Uintah and Wasatch ski mountain views from every room. The home also features an award-winning mine shaft-themed 4K movie theatre (see it to believe it) and a 3,000-square-foot patio and dedicated tubing and sledding area.
