Whether it was the debut of a new office, celebrating our award-winning agents, scaling the side of a building for charity, or unveiling our most glamorous new listings, you read about it here first on The Agency Edit. Here we take a look back at some of our most memorable blogs from 2020.

Arizona

Our own Luis Gonzalez was designated a Top 50 Realtor in Maricopa County for the third year in a row by NAHREP Greater Phoenix Chapter. The organization, recognized as “The Voice for Hispanic Real Estate,” proudly champions homeownership for the Hispanic community in and around Phoenix.

Aspen

The Agency Aspen partnered with Peak3, an Aspen-based boutique home builder, to bring exceptional new residential offerings to market as demand for homes in the mountain destination soared. Heather Sinclair spearheaded the partnership at a time when new inventory dipped as buyers from around the country vied for a slice of mountain life.

British Columbia

Managing Partner of The Agency Victoria, Jason Binab unveiled one of his extraordinary waterfront listings, 3777 Waring Place in Saanich in our monthly agent insider roundup. Showcasing award-winning design by Zebra Design and GT Mann, the home boasts extravagant, triple-layer sliding doors, an outdoor kitchen designed to mirror the interior, LED-lit pool with swim jets, temperature-controlled wine cellar, and fantastic ocean views from nearly every room.

DC. Metro

The Agency debuted in the nation’s capital with its first Washington D.C. Metro office. Making the announcement the week of the November election, the team of more than 30 agents is led by industry veterans Nurit Coombe and Alex Martinez.

Greater Los Angeles

The Agency team took the leap for a great cause, partnering with the Los Angeles Union Rescue Mission in their annual Over The Edge fundraising event. Twenty-three members of The Agency team took to the roof of the Hilton to rappel 24 stories to help raise funds for the fight against homelessness. Together, The Agency’s team of dare devils spent months personally raising $25,579 for this incredible cause.

Los Cabos

From Los Cabos to La Paz, Los Angeles to South Florida, The Agency featured some of the top vacation rentals and luxury homes to inspire future travel. Included on the list—the sprawling oceanfront estate Casa Bahia Rocas, neighboring the One&Only Palmilla Hotel and represented by Janet Jensen, Jessica Moreira, Lew Gallo and Jonathan Ruiz, as well as the picturesque Puerta Cortés, offering a boutique collection of oceanfront and hillside residences in La Paz.

Orange County

The Agency noted the market arrival of a private oceanside paradise steeped in surfing and sailing history. Represented by Rita Whitney, Michael Caruso and Phillip Caruso, The Shoreline at 35811 Beach Road is a private paradise encompassing the home of late waterman and surf legend Wayne Schafer, as well as two vacant oceanfront parcels and 127 feet of beachfront in Dana Point’s iconic, guard-gated Beach Road enclave.

Pasadena

The Agency took readers inside an architectural and cultural marvel in Pasadena. 1100 Paso Alto Road features not one, but two homes by two of Southern California’s most iconic architects. Situated atop the Linda Vista hills, 1100 Paso Alto Road features custom-designed residential masterpieces by modernist pioneer A. Quincy Jones and midcentury visionary Thornton Ladd. Represented by Gus Ruelas, Anthony Guthmiller and Mauricio Umansky, both residences capture unparalleled views of the Rose Bowl, San Gabriel Valley, Downtown Los Angeles and the Pacific Ocean.

Palm Desert

The Palm Springs and Palm Desert markets sizzled in 2020 as buyers flocked to the Coachella Valley for its natural beauty and incredible outdoor recreation. Jeff Kohl updated The Wall Street Journal on the state of real estate in the region noting, “The market has exploded.” While the summer months are usually quiet, Jeff told WSJ, “We’ve seen more deals in the last three months than in the last two years combined. Everything has sold—unless it’s significantly overpriced or needs a lot of work.”

Puerto Vallarta & Punta de Mita

The lush, tropical fairways of the region proved irresistible in 2020, as buyers coveted social distant-friendly outdoor activities within close reach of home. Appearing on our roundup of fantastic golf properties was Isla Tortuga 164 in Nuevo Vallarta, represented by Alejandro Aldrete. Located on the El Tigre Golf Course, the villa boasts three bedrooms, a pool with a 25-meter lap lane and four covered terraces, 45,000-square-foot clubhouse, fitness studio and members-only beach club.
